Put the Kettle On

We celebrated the installation of electricty to the Mausoleum by organising an event in July,

‘Put The Kettle On’.  We would like to thank our members, friends and supporters for making this a wonderful event to start off our 2021 programme. There was plenty of cake, tea and coffee with a superb themed raffle and contributions from Taylors of Harrogate.

We carried out the first draw of our 100 Club and the next will take place at our September concert.  Thank you for your support in making the day special.

Our Community Concert for Saturday, Sept 4th is now SOLD OUT, thank you once again.  We look forward to enjoying your company with our talented entertainers.

Friends Lunch

Sunday 31st October 12 noon for 12.30 at The West Retford Hotel, Retford.

Tickets now on sale at £18 per Adult and £9 per Child.  Meet up with friends and treat yourself to a delicious two-course meal with a speaker and raffle, with our 3rd draw of the 100 Club. Contact details below for tickets & menu choices.

Winter Music

Saturday 4th December 2pm-3pm  (Doors open 1.30pm)

Yes! it’s our popular festive concert! Come along and enjoy seasonal songs and music with refreshments, a raffle and the final draw this year of our 100 Club. 

Please book your seat early, places are already being booked.

THE FRIENDS OF MILTON MAUSOLEUM

Further to the recent Government guidelines we are pleased to announce some date changes, and also some new events that we have arranged for later this year. Our Sunday openings for this year will now begin on 23rd May from 2pm – 4pm.  We will be complying with the latest Covid-19 government guidelines.

Sun. 23rd May            Sunday openings begin. 2pm – 4pm (until 26th Sept).

Sun. 27th June            A.G.M. 2pm at the Mausoleum. All visitors welcome at the AGM. Mausoleum open 2pm – 4pm

Sun. 4th July               ‘Put The Kettle On’ – An Open Afternoon with tea, coffee and cake. 2pm – 5pm

                                          

Sat. 4th Sept               Community Concert at 7pm. Details to follow. Seating may be restricted. Tickets £7 

Sun. 31st Oct               Friends Lunch at the West Retford Hotel – Details to follow

                                        

Sun. 4th Dec               Winter Music at 2pm. Our very popular event to round off the year.

We Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Here we are nearly at the end of a momentous year in all our lives and we have really missed putting on events at the Mausoleum and most of all we have missed you and your support.  We have so many ideas for 2021 and can’t wait to start.

To show our appreciation of your support and friendship in the past, we have had a free raffle this year.  All the members’ and supporters’ names were given a number and the draw took place  at our Zoom Committee meeting! On 1st Dec. 2020.

All of us on the Friends of the Milton Mausoleum Committee send our sincere greetings to you, your family and friends, together with our best wishes for a better year ahead. We will be in touch.

THE FRIENDS OF MILTON MAUSOLEUM AUTUMN UPDATE

It’s been a very quiet year for the volunteers of Milton Mausoleum due to the Covid 19 restrictions, however the building has been open for the month of September, the last month of our season. We were pleased to meet visitors on each Sunday in September and have made some good contacts.

However, we are not able to hold our final event of this year, our popular Annual Christmas concert.  This is so disappointing for our volunteers and supporters alike as we see it as our introduction to the Christmas season and it is always a joyous occasion.

We are looking forward to 2021 as we have lots of plans for our new season. Here are some of them, Covid situation permitting us to go ahead.

  • Sunday 25th April 2021 – Sunday Lunch at the West Retford Hotel
  • Saturday 26th June 2021 – Summer Concert
  • From May to September, first Sunday in the month, light refreshments for sale
  • From May to September we will have new facilities available – watch this space!

MILTON MAUSOLEUM STAYING COVID -19 SECURE IN 2020

We are delighted to inform you that The Mausoleum will be open every Sunday in September 2 – 4pm.

Clear procedures are in place to ensure that we meet Government COVID 19 guidance on cleanliness, and social distancing.

To help us protect the health of our volunteers and members of the public, our Volunteer Stewards will be wearing PPE, and all visitors must wear a mask on entering the building.

We will be operating a one-way system, the stewards will guide you around the building to promote social distancing, and sanitising product will be available for your use.
